There’s Gotta be More Than Living Paycheck to Paycheck

Today was a day from hell!

I had a rough day today at my 7am to 2pm job. I was swamped from the moment I walked in the door to the moment I hit the time clock to go home. Unfortunately the work load didn’t match the pay I received in tips. I was so discouraged as I sat there and counted the tips I had made in those 7 long hours. I felt like I should have made a whole hell of a lot more than just the $50.00 I had accumulated from the insensitive and rude people that felt my time and hard work was only worth their chump change. If you haven’t guessed yet, I’m a waitress. Sometimes it’s an awesome and rewarding job other times like today for instance it really sux!

You work hard all day and by the way I don’t get a break at all. There are times I cannot even get to the restroom until after I clock out. I just wish I could have more of those good days instead of the bad, like today. Its heart breaking and disserting to feel like your time and hard work has such a small price tag on it. I feel like I’m stuck in a rut sometimes and I’m having a hard time getting out. Fortunately I have a back up plan and I will be able to say bye bye to the day to day heart and back aches that come with this unfair profession. Don’t misunderstand me, being a waitress or waiter is the job I chose but there’s gotta be more than living day to day and paycheck to paycheck.
